Thanksgiving break
Nick, Li'er and I cooked a meal for 10 on Thanksgiving. It was strangely renumerative to see people picking out all the shrimp from the shrimp scampi dish that you just spent an hour cooking. If you were thereyou'd love it, too.
Jorge called last week, to say that he'd be visiting Ann Arbor! Needless to say, we are all thrilled to have our favorite Mexican trainee visit us. Last year this time, I remember spending Thanksgiving alone at home frantically trying to finish my term paper on Eastern European economics. Jorge and Richard visited me that day, and they taught me how to use Excel :)
THe day after, Nick and I drove down to Chicago and stayed at the Hyatt (thanks to priceline.com, the room was only 65 bucks). It reminded me so much of last X'mas, when Li'er, Alex, and I drove to Chi-town in Alex's Chrysler-Cirrus, same model as I have, and spent 3 days at the same hotel. I really like the city, and am considering applying to an internship there, so that I can spend the weekends with my beloved.
On the job front - I've applied to several traineeships in Germany, but have been mostly declined due to my inability to speak German. Bummer. The weed-loving country of Netherlands seems more embracing of people of different foreign language skills. And I have been vigorously, if not shamelessly, attacking ABN AMRO and their awesome traineeship positions. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
On the LSAT side, well, my score has pretty much remained stagnant at 164 for the past two weeks. Without having done much work, I'd say that's probably a natural indication of my average intellegence brain. But this week I'll need to make my little brain work wonders, in addition to writing a kick-ass personal statement for my law school apps. I must admit, I really enjoy writing these personal statement things.
Anyway, time to work for a miracle now.
Ciao
